You can build the life you've always dreamed of. You can achieve work-life balance, and create a plan to seek out and develop the life of your dreams. It begins with attention in each focal area of your life.
Look at each of these six areas, and then dream goals for each one. Then create action goals that you'd like to accomplish in the next year.
Design DREAMS, WANTS, and ACTION ITEMS for each area.
Dreaming about relationships: What do you want this area of your life to look like? What would your relationships be if they were just the way you wanted them to be? Write down your thoughts and create some action items that match to fulfilling those goals. Potentially your action items could be: a monthly date night with your husband, a monthly girls' night, a monthly one-on-one time with your kiddos, etc.
Fitness & Health
If you were to dream in this area of your life, what would it look like? Think about the body and health of your dreams. Write down what it looks like. Think of goals that match to your dreams. Potential action items could be: heart smart healthy eating, begin exercising four times a month for three months in a row, sign up for a yoga class, go to the batting cages, etc.
Spiritual & Mental
We often leave this behind, but it is a vital area of our life. What does your spiritual life and mental well being look like in your dreams? Think about the goals that match to that. Write down action items that match to your dreams. Potential action items could be: Attending a church service regularly, daily devotional, mission trip, etc.
Hobbies, Passions & Interests
What are your hobbies, passions and interests? If you have none, what would they be if you were living the life of your dreams? Write down your goals and visions. Create potential action items that fulfil those dreams.
What does your work life look like in your dreams? Do you love your job? If not, what do you like about it? What do you hate about it? What does the job of your dreams look like? Document what you are thinking. Create potential action items. Ideas could be: if you dislike your job, set dates and a plan to look for a new one. If you don't have a job, set regular goals to search out and find the job of your dreams.
What does your home life look like in your dreams? Do you have a picture in mind? Write it down. Dream away. Create a plan that gets you there.
Accept that you create your destiny. You create the direction that you are driving your life. You are in control. Preparing a plan can get you where you want to go.
